Dr New Day - Boosting Brain, Energy, Beauty and Love of Life!

Hi, I'm soon to be a doctor! My friends call me Dr. New Day because I am always looking at each day as a new opportunity to learn and have fun! I am 25 years old, a Med Student, single (So far! Studying takes a bite out of dating time!). I love the science of the brain and how food, nutrition & physical movement affect it, impacting our personal beauty, health and lives!

This week I learned about Brains Going Bananas & Sleeping Beauty Secrets!

Brain: The brain needs Goldilocks portions of energy: not too much, not too little. To optimize brainpower, Michael Green of Aston University in England suggests one tactic would be "more frequent but smaller meals." The brain works best with about 25 grams of glucose circulating in the blood stream — about the amount found in a banana, said Gibson. Eat Bananas!
Sleeping BeautyLifestyle: Sleeping Beauty may be better off waking up on her own watch. Five hours or less sleep a night makes us gals twice as likely to suffer from hypertension (extreme emotional tenseness) than gals who sleep for 7+ hours a night. And guess what, guys showed none of the same signs of hypertension when they slept less! So girls, I say we get 7+hours of sleep a night for better brain and body performance! How about you?
